will provide the next accommodation. supervisor farrell. >> thank you president chiu. colleagues today i have the honor of honoring a couple in restaurant district two which had its legged started in a different district. i don't know if it's district nine but i am proud to bring forward craig and annie stole who operate del fiona pizza on california street and their second pizza operation in the city and dove tailing off of the success in the restaurant that i used to go to quite a bit. district eight. congratulations. they opened up on california and have done such amazing job. it's one of the most popular places in my district and we opened up this with great success. they have been written up chronicle and "new york times" and npr which i didn't realize and they're the go to place and it's an honor to bring you both forward today. to let you know about the stoles. craig is from new york but came to san francisco and graduated from the culinary institute of america and won a james berd award and numerous accolades and annie is a restaurant our and icon here. >> >> and over seeing th

on at this time. the most interesting project is at farrell street and electrician paid for the two lights outside the building. i think they're out there today. in 1955 it was a tackle shop. in 1961 this is what the property looked like and part lawndy mat or a restaurant which i have never been to. in 1965 it turned into furniture store and i picked this up and "vacant glass and drug dealers" and this must have been from last night. this must have been last week. and thises of 1985. some of us were in elementary school. unfortunately some of us must have grownup around the corner of a crack house of the elementary school and we were there at 630 and the appropriate time to come home from school. the girl, eight and ten years old and we were reading and smoking crack and she's coming out of the car and her father is trying to shield her from what is going on. luckily they have the decentacy to not see this. some of us might have grown up across the street and become a baseball player. some of us might have grown up across the street from a crack house. >> thank you. ms. chapman. >>

and farrell. i have not experienced bed bugs in my building. i live in the 16th street hotel. many other people have. this bed bug legislation will cause a manager -- will ensure the managers will have train curriculum on exactly what and how to deal with bed bugs, inspectors and the dph to make sure managers don't just say that they took care of. it they will have to prove that they took care of it. this legislation would give tenants peace of mind. managers would have to fulfill their obligations or be issued a violation from the dph and i would be on their tails to make sure that they do their jobs. as a tenants' right organizer i'm known in the mission district as the tro for the sro from hell. thank you. muni service needed without sich backs report. i would like to thank chairman farrell and supervisor chiu and agencies for taking time to read and respond to our findings and recommendations. i want to thank you also the presiding judge of the superior court and martin choy the acting foreperson and the grand juries that have worked so hard over the one year term. members were selected to be motivated competent and diverse but we all had one thing in common. we love san francisco and we want it to be the best city it can be. when the jury discussed and voted on this muni investigation we deliberately chose to focus on the practice of switchbacks rather than try to investigate the whole transportation system which i think will make you happy today. we in factually suspected and later convinced that the way muni was using and justifying switchbacks as a tool to regulate service -- that's in quotes, was a blatant breach of the public's trust. the schedules are a promise made by muni to the riders and switchbacks break that promise. we disagree emphatically with the words of muni

agree with supervisor farrell and ask that the mta eliminate these practices look to other jurisdictions for best practices and minimize the practice and explicit guidelines when switchbacks might be justified but the incredible frustration of passenger who is are put into difficult situations when they experience switchbacks certainly i echo the sentiments to look at this practice and make sure it doesn't happen. >> thanks president chiu and before we approve the resolution i would like to open it up for public comment. any members of the public like to comment? seeing none it is close. president chiu. >> i make a motion to recommend the recommended actions. >> okay. and we can do that without objection. madam clerk are there any further items? >> no there are not. >> okay. we are adjourned.

leprechaun. as a matter of fact, in my novel that margaret spoke about, about jazz, in it, billy farrell, who is one of a very large number of characters, is a jazz pianist and before he begins playing a black leprechaun appears to him, mr. mcginniss so you can assume it's the ghost of mr. mcginniss. as margaret said, in 1949 we came to the south bronx, which was an irish neighborhood, mostly. i was sort of a spaced-out kid, destined obviously to be a poet. i was this big at 13 and i was a good rollerskater and the kids were amazed and they befriended me. after a while, they recognized that i had some sort of athletic ability and because i was so spaced out, they mistook it for great courage and if they pushed me, i pushed them back. it was just like a game. so they took to me and asked me to join the shamrocks. i even changed my name from ed vega to ed mcveigh. and this is how they passed me off because most of the teams they played were other irish kids. this was a regular football team so, consequently, they listed me as eddie mcveigh. it was great fun and my friends were jimmy flynn, padd
